BJP leader’s son shot at in Jammu; Manhunt launched to nab accused | KNO

Jammu, Jan 03 (KNO): Unknown person on Friday shot at and injured the son of a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader in Jammu district, officials said on Friday. As per details available with the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), Kanav Sharma, son of veteran BJP leader Chander Mohan Sharma was shot at near PDD office, situated at New Plots area of Jammu city. Kanav Sharma had some verbal exchange with PDD officials over some issue following which one of the persons opened fire at BJP leader’s son, who is also District President of BJYM Jammu unit. The injured has been rushed to Government Medical College (GMC) and Hospital where his condition is stated to be stable. Speaking to media outside Hospital, Chander Mohan Sharma claimed that a PDD employee fired at his son with a personal pistol and managed to run away from the spot, adding that his son was stable. “My son parked his car at PDD Office and the persons inside thought that someone came to check them and they started fighting with him while one of them opened fire at him and also managed to flee away,” BJP leader Chander Mohan Sharma told media persons outside the hospital. He said police have taken necessary action and started an investigation into the matter. Sharing details, he said two bullets were fired at his son but his condition is stable. Meanwhile, a police official said that preliminary investigation suggest that the accused is PDD employ and a massive manhunt has been launched to nab him—(KNO)
